Many life times ago, He visited and looked at my new work.
I like this, he said, but bigger...
For more than a year, Peter and I met, discussed the new version and made many decisions together, affecting both the original wax and the final bronze version of His garden piece... including final choices regarding the patina.
By the time the piece was finished, he got engaged and so They came (with a box of fine chocolates) to take official possession of the garden statue, They were to become Parents, the patina was light, almost non existent so that the high quality of the bronze finishing (specially on Leda) could be appreciated .
By the time photo's of the bronze arrived (today), They were Parents of two boys and the patina had evolved in the most spectacular way with some transparency winning over an acquired density of the most majestic grey!
Again... some transparency winning over an acquired density of the most majestic grey!
